Gender Dysphoria of Transgender People

Gender Dysphoria was know as Gender Identity Disorder before, it refers to the conflict between the gender a person was assigned with at birth and the gender they identify as. People with Gender Identity Disorder are uncomfortable with the gender they were assigned. Sometimes, they may uncomfortable with a certain part of their body, especially in the development of puberty, or they may uncomfortable with the role of the gender they play in real life. People with Gender Dysphoria hope to live as the opposite gender, they want to dress and make up as the opposite gender. For example, a a boy with Gender Dysphoria may fell uncomfortable when being treated as a boy, he my dress and act as a girl in life. The incongruence between different gender leads to significant distress some times. The distress is not only come from the the desire of the opposite gender, but also come from many other aspects. For most people, gender identification begins at birth. It is the same as the color and name we are assigned with. It is hard for parents to accept Gender Dysphoria. If a boy want to dress as girl and play with pink toys, a girl want to dress as boy and play with toy trucks, their parents may feel anxiety. This kind of action is define as gender nonconformity. It means the behavior not match the gender their weer assigned with, act as the opposite gender.

Gender dysphoria is totally different from being homosexual. Gender dysphoria is a distressing suffering to these individuals and their families. Many people who suffering from gender dysphoria are isolated by other people around them. With great pressure from inside and the outside world, they begain to doubt themselves, some of them cannot accept their bodies. When our bodies get mature day by day, people with Gender Dysphoria may realize ultimate betrayal from their body feature. Gender Dysphoria is the main factor that separates us from the gender we are assigned with to the gender we want to be. It may cause depression, self-doubt and even suicide is this problem cannot be solved ultimately. It takes many forms to solve this problem. Self-acceptance, social transgender dating two main forms.

Self-acceptance means to accept yourself as the opposite gender. Regardless other people's opinions, change your name, dress and act as the opposite gender if you want. It seems hard at first, but other people would gradually accept you later.  Social transition requires therapy, hormone treatments and even reassignment surgery. It is the same as transition process of transgender people. Support from families and friends is very importance during social transition. The transition process can be harder if you cannot be understood and supported by your families. It is also a hard process which needs a lot of time and money. Before having the transition surgery, you have to undergo much therapy.You should also be ready enough for the after effects of the transition surgery.
